Federal law requires committees to report name, address, employer, occupation for each individual who contributes in aggregate of $200 per an election cycle. Corporate Contributions to McCaskill for Missouri are prohibited.

Now is the time to reverse a mistake that dates back to the Civil War, a mistake that cedes management of our public safety to out-state legislators and the Governor in Jefferson City. Now is the time to regain control of our St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Last fall, over 69 percent of City voters cast their vote in favor of Local Control by voting for Proposition L . Unlike other issues in the past when St. Louisians have been divided, on Local Control citizens from Baden, to the Hill, from Soulard to the Ville voted in favor of Local Control. A majority of the voters in every ward in the city voted “YES” for Proposition L.
Now, for the first time since Abraham Lincoln’s administration, we have an opportunity to regain local control of our police department. Thanks to the hard work of Sen. Joe Keaveny, Rep. Jamilah Nasheed, Mayor Francis Slay, Aldermanic President Reed and many others, our voices will be heard in the Senate of the State of Missouri.

Our elected representatives in Jefferson City cannot do this alone. They need your voice, too!

Please join me next week at the state Capitol in Jefferson City to lobby for local control of the police department. If you want to learn more about this issue, please take a minute to read Mayor Slay’s Op-Ed in the Post Dispatch.

Buses will transport people to and from the Capitol on Wednesday, January 26th at 9:00 AM and return to St. Louis around 5:30 PM.
